The Best Hokkien Mee in Singapore? A pop-up concept by Enjoy Xia Hokkien Mee Kitchen, this rustic eatery is primely situated at Jalan Besar. What started out as a limited delivery special during the pandemic, the Hokkien Mee which is currently the signature dish sold at Enjoy Xia Hokkien Mee Kitchen was massively popular and sold out for 10 weeks consecutively. No wonder they arenโt afraid to claim that theyโre the best Hokkien Mee in Singapore!

Apart from Hokkien Mee, you can also find other familiar dishes from the menu of Enjoy Eating House as well as new creations by Chef Joel Ong including Nu Er Hong Braised Pork Belly and Grilled Banana Leaf Sambal Stingray. Despite its location within Kam Leng Hotel (that is currently undergoing renovation works), the eatery was fully packed when we visited on a Friday evening. Visit earlier to avoid the crowds and ENJOY XIA!
Here are some of the dishes we tried!
Big Xia Hokkien Mee ($15.80 onwards)
Our favourite dish, the generous portions definitely took us by surprise! And itโs not even the biggest serving option that they have ๐ฎ Simmered for 6-7 hours in rich seafood broth, the umami-filled noodles are slightly charred and so aromatic! It comes with a good amount of prawns, squid, roasted Kurobuta pork belly, and fragrant pork lard. Personally, I like the โwetโ version of Hokkien mee with sufficient gravy and this definitely ticked my box! Best enjoyed with a dollop of sambal ๐ฅ
SG Style Chilli Prawns with Crispy Mantou ($25.80)
A unique spin on one of Singaporeโs most iconic dish – think chilli crab but substituted with prawns. This popular dish (also available at Enjoy Eating House) comes with Mantous for dipping into that savoury gravy.
Wok Hei Cabbage in Fish Sauce ($11.80)
Iโm not usually a fan of fish sauce but this rendition was right up my alley! Tried this flavourful cabbage on my previous visit to Enjoy Eating House too and Iโm glad to share that the standards remain.
Nu Er Hong Braised Pork Rice Bowl ($14.80)
Contrary to the cabbage that tastes better than it looks, the braised pork rice sadly looks better than it tastes. Honestly, rather disappointed by the tough pork and I think thereโs much room for improvement.
Grilled Banana Leaf Sambal Stingray ($16.80 onwards)
A specialty side, the Sambal Stingray fell short of our expectations too. Although it was meaty, the dish was overcooked and we found a strand of hair in our dish (and gave our feedback to the staff).
๐ฆ Overall, there was a mix of hits and misses at Enjoy Xia. On whether their Hokkien Mee is the best in Singapore as they claim, I am not too sure though it was definitely above average ๐คญ
