“Squisito” means “Delicious” in english and we can be sure to say that their food is definitely delicious. Introducing you just some of the highlighted dishes we tried on their more than 100 items menu, including some must-try dishes!
Beef Wellington ($36.00)
The Beef Wellington is definitely a must-try for this restaurant. It’s hard to find a nice Beef Wellington but Squisito offers this delicious dish at an affordable price. Priced at only $36, you get a juicy beef fillet, savoury turkey ham, rich mushroom and pistachio pate, and buttery, flaky crispy puff pastry. The beef was still tender in the middle and slightly chewy at the edge, while the mushroom and pistachio pate gave it a deeper and more robust flavour. This dish is also perfect for sharing.
The beef is snugly wrapped in a delicate layer of buttery puff pastry, which was baked to golden perfection, creating a crisp exterior that contrasts wonderfully with the tender beef and moist mushroom filling. I am very impressed as it is not easy to make the beef wellington still medium rare in the middle. It was crunchy on the outside, soft in the middle and absolutely juicy in the middle.
Al Granchio ($22.00)
The Al Granchio dish immediately captures my attention. As I take the first bite, the delicate sweetness of real crab meat dances harmoniously with the rich and tangy tomato and cream sauce. The perfectly cooked linguine and tender crab-meat offer an orchestra of textures that captivate my senses with every bite. The rich creaminess of the sauce adds a luxurious touch, elevating the dish to an extraordinary level.
Generously filled with crab meat and expertly balanced, every strand of pasta is coated with creamy crabby sauce, leaving me yearning for more of this exquisite creation! It’s not just your ordinary crab meat pasta; it’s a divine indulgence. Legit! Every mouthful was filled with the pulled crab meat and the flavours complimented perfectly, without any of the ingredients over-powering one another.
The Calzone Pizza is a kind of pizza less commonly seen in Singapore, but definitely something you have to try. It is a folded pizza that merges the best of both worlds. With the first taste, I am immediately greeted by the inviting aroma of freshly baked dough, promising delights within. The golden, flaky exterior gives way to a burst of gooey cheese and savoury tomato sauce.
From the crispness of the crust to the rich and savoury filling, each bite offers an enchanting surprise that brings together the joy of pizza and the comforting allure of pastries. The softness of the dough further enhances the overall experience, making it an absolute must-try.
Vesuvio pizza ($22.00)
The Vesuvio Pizza, crafted by the owner himself, is a flavour-packed feast. Generously topped with beef meatballs and chicken sausage, with a hint of chili for spice enthusiasts, this pizza stands out from the crowd. The well-balanced tomato base and mozzarella create a delightful melody of flavours that dance on the taste buds. The thin crust adds a crispiness that complements the cheesiness, making it a delightful choice for groups looking to indulge in a truly Italian pizza experience.
Gnochhi Ripieni ($16.00)
What struck us first with this dish was the spice. We didn’t expect small thumb-size gnocchi to pack a punch to our taste buds. Loaded with spicy beef, the gnocchi was served with garlic aioli sauce, which gives it another dimension to its taste. Squisito is also the only Italian restaurant that serves beef-stuffed gnocchi.
Crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. Dip it in the sauce and you will find yourself snacking on the gnocchi non-stop. Even our friend who couldn’t take spice couldn’t resist taking more!
Manzo ripieno ($24.00)
Using their homemade beef-stuffed gnocchi, Manzo Ripieno, has slightly milder spiciness taste with its creamy sauce complimenting it perfectly. The gnocchi is equally spicy, but when paired with the creamy mushroom sauce, the spiciness is tamed.
The creamy mushroom sauce is delicious. It tastes like an extremely rich mushroom soup that’s earthy and aromatic. Trust me, you will want to scrap every last bit of the sauce and not waste any of it.
Pesto Burrata Salad
The Pesto Burrata Salad is a celebration of freshness and creaminess. The smooth and velvety burrata cheese beautifully complements the fragrant and aromatic pesto sauce. As the flavours of the greens, tomatoes, and olives burst in my mouth, I am treated to a vibrant and invigorating taste. The creamy burrata cheese balances the crispness of the greens, creating a perfect harmony of textures.
