Thai cuisine is known for its bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and a perfect balance of sweet, sour, salty, and spicy tastes. At Soi 47, this is what you get. I must give the chefs here a thumbs-up for the unique blend of flavors and textures they incorporated into their dishes.

Soi47 Thai Cuisine Steamed Sea Bass with Thai Lime Sauce

Steamed Sea Bass with Thai Lime Sauce ($19.80)

Their steamed sea bass was served piping hot, soaked with a zesty, spicy lime sauce that had the fragrant aroma of lemongrass and garlic. The fish was fresh, with plump, juicy meat!

Soi 47 Thai Cuisine Steamed Sotong with Thai Lime Sauce

Steamed Sotong with Thai Lime Sauce ($18.00)

Served in the same sauce as the steamed sea bass, the sotong was one of my favourites as well. Some sotongs are hard to chew but this was fresh and tender, and came in a generous portion.

Soi 47 Thai Cuisine Claypot Tang Hoon with Prawns

Claypot Tang Hoon with Prawns ($12.80)

Their claypot tang hoon is for noodle lovers. Served in a claypot for that extra wok hey, their noodles are springy and flavourful. This dish also came with a generous amount of prawns.

Soi 47 Thai Cuisine Tom Yam Soup Cream Style with Prawns

Tom Yam Soup Cream Style with Prawns ($6.80)

If you can’t handle too much spice, you can always opt for their tom yam soup in their cream style! Topped with evaporated milk, this soup was all parts creamy and yet tangy.

Soi 47 Thai Style Omelette

Thai Style Omelette ($6.50)

Their thai style omelette is deep fried, with crispy edges, and a fluffy-eggy interior. Street food enthusiasts can definitely look forward to this dish!

Soi 47 Thai Cuisine Green Curry Chicken

Green Curry with Chicken ($6.50)

Tender chicken served in a rich and creamy, coconut-based green curry sauce. It might look unassuming but the flavours were rich. This dish was one of the least spicy dishes and is suitable even for those who can’t handle spicy food.

Stir Fried Pork with Basil Leaves ($6.80)

One of my favourite Thai dishes and it’s safe to say that theirs was done right! This dish was savoury with a pleasant kick of spice.

Stir Fried KangKong with Garlic ($6.50)

Fresh vegetables with the strong aroma of garlic and chilli, this was a great addition to the meal to get some hearty greens in!

Soi 47 Papaya Salad

Papaya Salad ($4.80)

Served best as an appetiser and palate cleanser, their papaya salad was refreshing and packed with tangy, crisp papaya!

Soi 47 Mango Sticky Rice

Mango Sticky Rice ($5.50 )

Fresh and sweet mango served on a bed of chewy, glutinous rice, soaked in creamy coconut milk. This was a crowd favourite!

Tapioca with Coconut Milk ($4.00)

We didn’t manage to get a photo because we were too busy eating but this was my personal favourite dessert and it deserves a special mention! It came with warm, gooey tapioca drenched in a pool of syrup and coconut milk. The fragrance of the coconut milk just burst in my mouth and the tapioca literally melted between my teeth. This is definitely a dessert I’ll return for again!

Red Ruby ($3.00)

Refreshing, light and served with a generous amount of red, jewel-like, crunchy water chestnuts, this dish was a great way to end the meal.

Chin ChowΒ

This is the new dessert they’ve launched recently. It was refreshing and a great palate cleanser. It wasn’t too sweet and was topped with chewy atapchi seeds, a perfect contrast to the jelly-like texture of the grass jelly.

I also really enjoyed the laid-back, relaxing atmosphere, and the friendly, helpful staff. Take a look at the greenery outside the restaurant. Isn’t it pretty? With many outlets available all over Singapore, such as Toa Payoh and even Clarke Quay, Soi 47 is an amazing spot to meet up with your friends over some authentic Thai food. They’re also opening a new outlet at Nex, so be sure to check them out when you’re in the vicinity.

They also offer islandwide delivery and pick-up services. Just visit this site and start ordering!
