In conjunction with International Womenβs Day on 8th March 2023, all-day dining venue Alley on 25 in Andaz Singapore will debut a new Strawberry-themed Alley Tea-scape experience, available daily from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The first 40 diners will also receive a SGD 20 gift card for use in a local lingerie studio, Perk by Kate store, or online.
The Tea-scape menu is curated by Alley on 25 Chef de Cuisine Tommy Wong, and newly-appointed hotel Pastry Chef Francis Wong, who was formerly the owner and head chef of the defunct Non-EntrΓ©e Dessert CafΓ©, which serves reimagined European desserts, pastries, and artisanal gelato.
Served in specially handcrafted stands that encapsulate the spirit of the shophouse enclave in the hotel neighbourhood, an array of sweet morsels is prepared with fresh strawberries imported from Australia. Crowd-pleasers include a smooth Hokkaido Milk Panna Cotta with Strawberry Cloud, which mimics the texture of a delicate marshmallow; Strawberry Shortcake with light layers of vanilla Chantilly and shortbread; Strawberry Lollipop enhanced with Sakura extract from Japan; and Strawberry Yuzu Γclair, a classic favourite of homemade choux pastry filled with refreshing yuzu cream and topped with the hulled berries. Not to be missed are also freshly baked Pistachio Scones with pistachio nuts and strawberry crisps, which are served warm, and alongside milk jam and clotted cream.
For savouries, relish in a Brie Sandwich perfectly paired with slices of granny smith apple and a Gravlax Bagel with cured salmon and herbed cream cheese. There is also a moreish Creamy Chicken Vol-Au-Vent. To render the meat flavourful and tender, the chicken is first char-grilled with herbs like rosemary and thyme before being sous-vide, and combined together with bacon, bell peppers, and cream cheese.
The epicurean treat comprises free-flow freshly brewed coffee and a selection of TWG Tea including Singapore Breakfast, Moroccan Mint, and Vanilla Bourbon. To enhance the relaxing afternoon, guests can add on other beverage choices by the glass available from SGD 20 β red and white wines, Andaz Pilsner, Delamotte Brut Champagne, Billecart-Salmon Brut RosΓ©, and low-ABV Copenhagen Sparkling Tea.
