Positano Risto was created to give diners all over the world the choice of an amazing halal Italian dining experience. They strive to provide delicious food at a great value with a unique ambience and fantastic service while being able to do good for the community. It was our first time at this restaurant and we loved the homely vibe. You could see all the customers enjoying their time and having conversations with their friends and families after a long week. Do not that this is not a quiet place but if you enjoy the crowd and warm atmosphere, you will love the environment here.
We had one the best Italian dining experience here and here are some of the dishes we tried!
Arancini Balls ($14.95)
Top 3 starters in the restaurant. Previously only 4 pieces but recently increased to 5 with their menu revamp. The Italian Rice Ball is crispy and fragrant on the outside, with truffle-infused rice surrounding the mozzarella cheese. Below the balls is their homemade mushroom pate which tastes like a homely mushroom soup. Truffle lovers will definitely enjoy this dish.
Slow-Braised Beef Cheeks ($28.95)
200g Australian beef cheeks that are well done and covered in brown sauce, served with roasted vegetables and citrus mash potato. The beef cheeks are super soft and easy to bite into. The beef flavor might be a bit strong for people who are not strong beef lovers but it was just nice for me. Eating it together with the mash potato gave us another delicious surprise as well.
Fettucine Carbonara ($18.95)
Cream sauce with sous vide egg in the middle, topped with crispy turkey bacon and shaved parmesan cheese. The pasta is cooked just nicely and it captures all the fragrant cream sauce mixed with the egg. The parmesan cheese and turkey bacon gave the pasta a stronger salty kick that is usually missing in other carbonaras. There is also a hint of sweetness that comes with the turkey bacon. This is definitely one of my personal favorites and highly recommended here.
Salmon Ravioli ($23.95)
Do you know that their ravioli takes 1 hour to make as it is hand-rolled? The sauce is also housemade. The dish might be quite salty if you don’t have a heavy taste. However, the salmon flavors are quite strong which is something that I like and the pasta itself was amazingly soft and easy to eat. Garlic bread is also crispy and the garlic flavor is not too strong.
Fish & Chips ($20.95)
The Halibut fish meat is very fresh and tender. The batter is not as thick as other places but it is still crispy enough for me. Lesser batter means more fish meat when it comes to this dish which I love. The tartar sauce is also homemade as it is a bit sourer than the ones that I have tried before, helping to increase my appetite for the dish.
Signature Gnocchi ($18.95)
The homemade gnocchi was an interesting experience as I have not tried it before. The pasta is soft and breaks apart the moment it enters my mouth. The mash potato inside, however, was a bit on the chewy side which was not to my liking. People who are not a fan of truffles will still be able to enjoy it despite truffles being part of the dish.
Burnt Honey Panna Cotta ($9.95)
If you are a fan of toffee, you will love this dessert as the burnt caramelised honey-coated biscoff adds the sweetness to the cream cheese. The cream itself was very light and easy to enjoy. You will be surprised by the orange chocolate at the end as well.
