I’m Kim BBQ started in 2014, under the Kingdom Food Group. To date, there are seven outlets and five different brands. With their central concept focusing on Korean BBQ, each brand caters to the diverse needs of individuals, from BBQ to shabu shabu to steamboat. They even have Halal-certified Korean QQB (under Captain Kim) restaurants so that Muslims can enjoy Korean specialties too.

Located at the School of the Arts, along Princep street, is where ‘I’m Kim Korean BBQ’ is. My jaw dropped upon her arrival at 5:30 pm (by the way, the operation for dinner starts at 5:30 pm). We have a line ahead of us! When I thought I was the earliest to beat the crowd, I got it all wrong. The shop’s interior is cosy and suitable for large groups. I appreciate the ample walking space between each table, plus the up-to-date Korean music videos played on screens.Β
The highlight of I’m Kim Korean BBQ is the wide selection of food, from meat to veggies to dessert and Korean specialties. The portions of the different types of meat are cut into huge slices. In addition, the meats are also well marinated, making them very flavourful when eaten! Can you believe it? Even when I arrived as early as 5:30 pm, some items were already up for replenishment.Β

If you enjoy pairing barbecue food with alcoholic drinks, you are in luck too. The restaurant has a happy hour that starts from 5:50 pm – 7 pm on weekdays and 2:30 pm – 6:30 pm on weekends. Also, the restaurant has a special rate for children (100cm – 140cm), students, and senior citizens. All you need to do is flash your student or senior citizen pass for the special discount. Lastly, children below the height of 100cm dines for free!Β
