Looking for some fresh raw Thai crabs in Singapore?
You would have probably noticed Pratunam Market Place & Bar whenever you walk along the streets of Bencoolen because of its loud and big ‘Pratunam’ signage. The overall vibes of the place do give off Thailand’s Street-Style dining experience so if you are missing Thailand, it would definitely be worth a visit!
It’s located in Sunshine Plaza, which is easily accessible from Bencoolen Downtown Line (just 2 minutes walk!). I would consider it a good location to chill and hang out with friends!

There is only outdoor seating but fret not if you are worried about the heat because there are air coolers all around! It started to drizzle when we were dining halfway and the staff was really thoughtful to help shift our tables in.
Alright, let’s talk about the most important thing, FOOD! I loved how everything was so flavourful and well-marinated. We had the MAMA Premium Mak Mak and Charcoal Grill Set as our mains. MAMA Premium Mak Mak was our favourite! It’s basically a Tom Yum hotpot. The set came with Maggi Noodles and mostly seafood like prawns, cockles, and crab-sticks. Tom Yum hotpot was spicy and will leave you wanting more!
If you want to feast like a king, get the Charcoal Grill Set! The portion was HUGE! There were Grilled Salt Crusted Fish, Kingcrab Sticks, Squid, Prawns, Sausages, and Mooping!
Something I found special on the menu was the Thai Raw Crabs. Never tried raw crabs before so it was definitely an acquired taste! Try it if you are adventurous! As for me, I cooked it in the Tom Yum hotpot and it was just right for me. Another side we tried was the Mentaiko Oysters, which were fresh and juicy. The flavours were impeccable!
