After hearing about this restaurant serving authentic Thai food made by Thai chefs, I paid a visit to 87 Just Thai Pasir Panjang with my group of friends. Just as its name suggested, itβs located at 87 Pasir Panjang Road, which is easily accessible via public transport and by car.

I was the first to arrive, and when I entered, the restaurantβs yellow walls and photos of Thailandβs royalty intrigued me. It’s a wholesomely Thai experience!
We tried the following dishes:
– Claypot Tanghoon with Prawns $14
– Thai Fish Cake $8
– Steamed Sea Bass $25
– Braised Pork Knuckle $12
– Pandan Fried Chicken $8
– Tom Yam Clear $8
– Deep Fried Century Egg with Basil Pork $10
– Crab Omelette $12
– Crab Fried Rice $12
– Thai Milk Tea $3
Here are some of the dishes we would like to highlight:
The Steamed Sea Bass was really fresh and there was no fishy smell at all. Everyone loved it, no complaints at all. The Braised Pork Knuckle was really easy to chew and has all the right mix of flavours.
The Claypot Tanghoon with Prawns was very flavourful as it absorbed all the taste of the various ingredients when it was trapped in the claypot (or iron pot to be exact).Β
The Pandan Fried Chicken isnβt a taste you can find easily in Singapore. As I took a bite of the chicken, I could taste the pleasant aroma of pandan, mixed with the juicy fried chicken. It was pretty out of this world. The Crab Omelette was delicious too! I did an experiment by leaving it on the table for more than 10 minutes and it still tasted so good after that.
The star dish should be left at the end and it is the Deep Fried Century Egg with Basil Pork. The century egg was amazing with the minced pork. Some people may not like the sound of having century eggs in their dishes due to their unique taste but fret not. The frying process ensures that the sharp flavour of the century egg is mostly eliminated.
All in all, 87 Just Thai is the place to go for authentic Thai dishes, and their prices are reasonable!
If you are going to 87 Just Thai via public transport, you may take the MRT via Circle Line to Pasir Panjang MRT Station and walk about 5 minutes to the restaurant. If you are driving, just drive into Jalan Pelepah. Thereβs a public parking lot for you to park your vehicle.
